For working out the modalities relating to visit of the Team to the affected areas and for getting the preliminary views of the State Officials, on 4.1.2008, meeting of the Team members along with Senior Officials from the States of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and Subject Matter Specialists invited as Special Invitees was held as a prelude to the visit.
It was considered important that before suggesting any strategy for mitigation of drought like situation prevailing in the districts of Bundelkhand area, the ground situation be looked into, understand the problems of the farmers, examine mitigation strategies drawn out by the respective state entities.
